Olabide Ikastola

The course of our cooperative started in 1963. That year half a dozen Vitorian families agreed to give an alternative education for their children, substantially different from the one that those days was offered by conventional centers.

No less it consisted on beting for a teaching where Basque, the Basque language would have the place that the officers of the moment denied. Fruit of that iniciative fourteen students started their studies in a flat of Cercas Street beneath the guardianship of Izaskun Arrue, the first teacher of what nowadays is Olabide Ikastola.
